pub struct EmitCtx { /* private fields */ }Expand description
The site an emitted fragment will be spliced into.
Built by the insertion mutators from the document’s own detected
conventions (Document::indent_unit,
Document::dominant_quote_style,
Document::dominant_flow_style) plus the column the new entry
starts at, so an Emit implementation can match the file it is
landing in rather than a serializer default.
§Examples
use noyalib::cst::{Emit, EmitCtx};
use noyalib::{FlowStyle, ScalarStyle};
let ctx = EmitCtx::new(ScalarStyle::Plain, FlowStyle::Block, 2, 0);
// Plain is safe here, and the site prefers plain.
assert_eq!("noyalib".emit(&ctx).unwrap(), "noyalib");
// Plain would re-parse as a boolean — quoting is forced.
assert_eq!("true".emit(&ctx).unwrap(), "\"true\"");Implementations§
Source§impl EmitCtx
impl EmitCtx
Sourcepub fn new(
quote: ScalarStyle,
flow: FlowStyle,
indent_unit: usize,
column: usize,
) -> Self
pub fn new( quote: ScalarStyle, flow: FlowStyle, indent_unit: usize, column: usize, ) -> Self
Build a context from a site’s conventions.
column is the zero-based column the emitted entry starts at —
the mapping key’s column, or the - indicator’s column for a
sequence item.
It is advisory: an emitted fragment indents its own
continuation lines relative to its first line, and the mutator
shifts the whole fragment to the site’s content column
afterwards. column is there for implementations that need to
know where they land anyway — line-width budgets, for
instance — not as the indent to emit at.
Sourcepub fn quote_style(&self) -> ScalarStyle
pub fn quote_style(&self) -> ScalarStyle
The dominant scalar quote style at this site.
Sourcepub fn flow_style(&self) -> FlowStyle
pub fn flow_style(&self) -> FlowStyle
The dominant collection style at this site.
Sourcepub fn indent_unit(&self) -> usize
pub fn indent_unit(&self) -> usize
The document’s detected indent step, in spaces.

§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():

fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the styling [Attribute] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use
attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.
§Example
Make text bold using attr():
use yansi::{Paint, Attribute};

Enables the yansi [Quirk] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use quirk-specific
builder methods like mask() and
wrap(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():
use yansi::{Paint, Quirk};
painted.quirk(Quirk::Wrap);Enable wrapping using wrap().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.wrap();§fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the [Condition] value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);
