#[non_exhaustive]pub enum TransformReason {
EscapeSequence,
LineFold,
TagResolution,
QuotedScalar,
AliasExpansion,
}Expand description
Why a YAML scalar could not be borrowed directly from the input
buffer and had to be materialised into an owned String.
Surfaced for users introspecting BorrowedValue / streaming
deserialisation paths: when a Cow<'a, str> resolves to
Cow::Owned instead of Cow::Borrowed, one of these reasons
applies. Useful in benchmarks and allocation-budget audits.
§Examples
use noyalib::borrowed::TransformReason;
assert_eq!(TransformReason::EscapeSequence.as_str(),
"scalar contained escape sequences that required decoding");Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
EscapeSequence
The scalar contained \n, \t, \xNN, \uNNNN, \UNNNNNNNN,
or other escape sequences that required decoding into a fresh
allocation.
LineFold
The scalar spans multiple physical lines and required line
folding (block scalar > or |, or a multi-line flow scalar).
TagResolution
Tag resolution materialised a fresh representation (!!binary
base64 decode, custom-tag dispatch via crate::TagRegistry).
QuotedScalar
The scalar was double-quoted and contained at least one escape, so the parser produced an owned post-escape buffer.
AliasExpansion
The scalar arrived via alias replay (*anchor) and the replayed
buffer is owned by the alias-expansion machinery, not the input
slice.

builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():

attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.

pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():

👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.

§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the [Condition] value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);§impl<T> Pointable for T
